Dear Patients/Families of Dr. Mary Piel’s/Golden Gate Pediatrics:
As you may know, Dr. Mary Piel retired in the fall of 2020. Mary has been an extraordinary member of this community and a phenomenal neighborhood pediatrician for over 30 years. She has seen our families through many important moments, from providing guidance in the early infant days to supporting our kids through their adolescence. Mary has been such a trusted, wise and thoughtful advisor to parents, that many wish their children could continue with her as their physician throughout their adult lives – a true testament to an inspired and successful patient-doctor relationship!
To recognize Mary’s exemplary career, in conjunction with CPMC, we have established the:
Dr. Mary Piel Pediatric Education Support Fund
Always seeking to broaden her knowledge, Mary was a devoted participant of the Hospital’s Department of Pediatrics lectures series, the “Grand Rounds”. The Grand Rounds series is a highly regarded and well attended weekly program for our medical providers (doctors, nurses, technicians) featuring pediatric experts who update our practitioners on changes in diagnoses, care of childhood illnesses, new therapies and controversies in care. The Dr. Mary Piel Pediatric Education Support Fund will provide additional resources to expand the Grand Rounds lecture series by exploring new modalities of education, and recording and sharing the lectures to a wider audience.
We hope you will join us in honoring our very special pediatrician by contributing to the Dr. Mary Piel Pediatric Education Support Fund. Our goal is to raise $50,000!
