Laurel J. Schultz, M.D., M.P.H. – Partner
Dr. Laurel (Laurie) Schultz completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Minnesota where she was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, before going on to complete her residency at the University of California San Francisco.
After earning a Masters of Public Health in epidemiology from the University of California Berkeley she worked for a year as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe Medical School and as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UCSF. She remains on the clinical faculty at UCSF. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the AAP section on Adoption and Foster Care.
Dr. Schultz is married and is the proud mom of two sons. In her free time she enjoys (outdoor) yoga, (outdoor) swimming, hiking and backpacking and anything else that brings her outside.

Lisa G. Dana, M.D. – Partner
Dr. Lisa Dana was born in Bologna, Italy. She attended University High School in San Francisco and then went on to complete her undergraduate education at the University of California Santa Barbara. She attended Georgetown University for Medical School. She completed her Internship and Residency at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Dana is on the clinical faculty at UCSF, is a member of the San Francisco Medical Society, and is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been part of our practice since 1999.
Dr. Dana is the proud parent of three children.

Dawn Rosenberg, M.D. – Partner
Dr. Dawn Rosenberg is originally from New York City but spent her high school years in San Francisco. She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University. She then attended the University of California San Francisco for medical school, distinguishing herself with election to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honors society.
She completed her post-doctoral training in pediatrics at Stanford University. She then stayed on at Stanford as a pediatric chief resident and clinical instructor in pediatrics. She remains actively involved in medical student and resident education as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Rosenberg serves on the Perinatal Quality of Care Committee at Sutter’s CPMC, and is a Trustee at the Burke’s School. She came to join our practice in 2005.
In her time away from the office, Dr. Rosenberg cherishes quality time with her family: her husband, two school-aged daughters, and three felines. She is also an active volunteer with the SPCA where she fosters kittens and special-needs cats.

Tracy McMahan, M.D. – Partner
Dr. Tracy DeAmicis McMahan was born and raised in San Francisco, California. After earning a BS in Anthropology at UCLA, she attended Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, graduating in 2000. She then moved back home and did her Pediatrics Residency at UCSF. She has practiced general pediatrics in various clinical models since 2003 and joined Golden Gate Pediatrics in 2013. She loves pediatrics because she enjoys the longitudinal care of children and their families and the opportunity for preventative care, with a goal of helping children learn and adopt healthy habits from a young age. She has special interests in young athletes, nutrition and obesity prevention as well as the long term follow up of premature babies.
Dr. McMahan loves teaching and has been on the volunteer clinical faculty at both Stanford and UCSF, mentoring medical students and residents and regularly has students shadowing her in the clinic. She has sat on the committees for breastfeeding and perinatal review in the past and is currently the Pediatric Primary Care Service Line Director at California Pacific Medical Center at SF acting as a liaison between community general pediatricians and the hospital. After residency, she helped establish a pediatric obesity project at San Francisco General Hospital and in 2004 was on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors Task Force on Childhood Physical Activity and Nutrition.
She is married to a sports physical therapist and together they have two young adult children. She volunteers for various non-profit organizations and practices what she preaches emphasizing fitness and healthy nutrition in her own daily life.

Paul M. Silvestre, M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Paul Silvestre went to Stanford University for his undergraduate education. He then attended the University of California San Francisco to receive his medical degree and also completed his postdoctoral training there as well.
He has also received a Masters in Public Health from the University of California Berkeley with an emphasis in Maternal and Child Health. He has been with our practice since 1998.

Monica Kwan, M.D.
Dr. Monica Kwan was born and raised in San Francisco. The daughter of working class immigrant parents, she is a proud graduate of Lowell High School and UC Berkeley and among the first generation in her family to attend college. After studying medicine at the University of Vermont, she returned home for pediatrics residency at UCSF with a focus on primary care. She worked in community health with the local Asian immigrant population for several years before joining our group in 2015.
Dr. Kwan lives in San Francisco with her husband and 2 young sons. Her professional interests include breastfeeding medicine, neurodivergence and inclusion, and addressing social and health disparities. In her free time she enjoys urban exploring (undoubtedly with many preplanned coffee and bakery stops), yoga, travel, rooting for the Giants, and spending time with friends and family.

Lucy Hume, M.D.
Dr. Lucy Hume is a 3rd generation San Franciscan and a graduate of Katherine Delmar Burke School and University High School. She received her BA from Brown University in 1994, and her MD from the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2000. She completed her Pediatric Internship and Residency at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC.
She moved back to her hometown in 2003 and began her pediatric career as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and California Pacific Medical Center, eventually moving to outpatient pediatrics in 2008 and joining our practice in 2019.
She is married and the proud mother of two active teenage boys and Koda, their puppy. She currently sits on the board of her neighborhood association and sits on the Common Sense Media Advisory Council. Over the last decade she has managed her sons’ Ice Hockey teams and has been active in the SF Parks Alliance, SF Zoo, California Academy of Sciences and Town School for Boys.

Ruth Friedrichsdorf, M.D.
Dr. Ruth Friedrichsdorf attended medical school in the medieval city of Munster, Germany. She started her pediatric residency at the St. Franziskus Children’s Hospital in Munster and continued her pediatric training at the Children’s Hospital of Westmead in Sydney, Australia. After immigrating to the United States and taking care of her three children she undertook another pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. She worked as a primary care pediatrician at the busy M Health Fairview Children’s Clinic in Minneapolis from 2016 – 2020.
Dr. Friedrichsdorf is happily married to another pediatrician and they live with their three school-aged children in beautiful Mill Valley. She is an enthusiastic hiker and joined our practice in 2020.

Matthew Rosenblum, M.D.
Dr. Matthew Rosenblum is a Sonoma County native and grew up in Sebastopol, CA. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology at UC Berkeley, he received his medical degree from Albany Medical College. After four cold winters in Upstate New York, he was thrilled to return to the Bay Area where he completed his Pediatric Residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

Erin Luckiesh, P.N.P.
Erin Luckiesh lives in Marin County with her husband, son, and daughter. She was born and raised in Marin and as a young child her pediatrician was Golden Gate Pediatrics’ Dr. Eileen Aicardi. She is a graduate of Redwood High School and UCLA.
Erin lived in San Francisco for several years after college and was a child life volunteer at the UCSF Children’s Hospital playroom alongside child life specialists for four years. After her inspiring experience as a volunteer with young patients, she then pursued a Masters in Nursing/Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree with a specialty in primary care from Yale University, before returning back to the Bay Area. Erin worked as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for San Francisco’s Noe Valley Pediatrics in 2021-2022.
Erin originally joined Golden Gate Pediatrics in 2019 as an advice nurse and was added to the office’s team of providers in 2022.

Jonathan Aicardi, D.O.
Dr. Jonathan Aicardi is a native San Franciscan and the eldest son of longtime Golden Gate Pediatrics physician, Dr. Eileen Aicardi. He attended UC Davis where he obtained his BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Upon completing his undergraduate degree, he spent time as a clinical research coordinator and project manager at UCSF, while also performing with his band as a musician. He then moved to New York to complete his medical education from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017, before embarking on his clinical rotations in New York, Connecticut and San Francisco. Dr. Aicardi completed his pediatric residency program with UCSF Fresno in 2022.
Dr. Aicardi enjoys spending his free time with his many nephews and nieces. He also enjoys exploring San Francisco by foot, trying out new restaurants, cooking, and visiting the California Academy of Sciences, all while continuing to make music. He joined our practice in 2022.

Julia Katsuura, M.D.
She is married to a fellow physician and the proud mother of two young boys. She spends her free time cooking, running, reading, and going on family hikes.

Carrie McFarland, P.N.P.
Nurse Practitioner, Carrie, originally from Pennsylvania, has called San Francisco home for over 20 years. She worked at UCSF Children’s Hospital for 17 years as a pediatric dietitian specializing in preterm infants and children with complex medical and feeding disorders. Her career in pediatric nutrition inspired her to obtain her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner master’s degree, also at UCSF. She now combines her medical and nutritional knowledge to provide expert care of children and supportive, practical, guidance to their caregivers. She has a particular interest in supporting new parents as they enter into the rewarding, but ever challenging, role of parenthood.

Jody Ullom, M.D.
Dr. Jody Ullom is originally from Minnesota. While growing up in the Midwest taught her some resiliency skills, she readily adapted to the mild climate and outdoor adventure opportunities in Oregon where she completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry with honors before completing medical school at Oregon Health Science University. She then moved to the Bay Area to complete her pediatric residency at Stanford. She joined Golden Gate Pediatrics in 2024 bringing her decades of experience in primary care.
Dr. Ullom enjoys engaging with her patients and their families, listening to their needs and working with them towards solutions. She treats everyone with care and respect by including them in the decision-making process, so they understand her recommendations. She has been gratified to be part of a larger team supporting kids, young adults and their families as things have become more challenging over the last decade.
She is the proud parent of two young adults. In her free time, Dr. Ullom enjoys playing pickleball, hiking and watching the birds and the wildlife that gather in her yard.

Juliana Stone, M.D.
Dr. Juliana Stone was born and raised in Mill Valley. She attended Branson for high school then went to Harvard College where she studied global health and competed as a Division I varsity lightweight rower. After college, she continued her global health work, first as a researcher at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and then at a policy start-up in Washington D.C. to help design immunization programs in low-income countries.
After earning a master’s in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins, she completed her medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC and her Pediatrics residency at Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
In her free time, you will find Dr. Stone enjoying the outdoors with her husband and two young boys, often biking or hiking on Mt. Tam, waterskiing in Richardson Bay, surfing at Stinson Beach, or playing in a semi-competitive soccer league.

Dr. Kathleen Wallace
Dr. Kathleen Wallace is a dedicated pediatrician with deep roots in San Francisco, where she grew up surrounded by UCSF hills. She attended The Hamlin School and The Branson School before earning her Bachelor of Arts in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology from Harvard College, where she also thrived as a member of the women’s varsity volleyball team. After completing her studies at Harvard, Dr. Wallace worked as a clinical research coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Food Allergy Center, where she helped advance clinical trials for innovative immunotherapies targeting peanut and milk allergies. She returned to California to attend UCSF School of Medicine, where she earned her medical degree and completed her pediatrics residency, focusing on primary care.
Dr. Wallace joined the practice in the fall of 2025. Her clinical interests include newborn care and lactation support, sports medicine and the mental health of student-athletes, as well as medical education and mentorship for underrepresented trainees. Beyond medicine, Dr. Wallace stays active by playing volleyball and avidly follows collegiate and professional women’s teams, indulges her passion for cooking and discovering new restaurants, and enjoys reading science fiction.

Dr. Nivedita Keshav
Dr. Nivedita Keshav grew up near LA in Simi Valley, CA. She then spent five formative years in the Bay Area, where she attended college at UC Berkeley and studied Public Health and Global Poverty. After college, she worked as a curriculum coordinator for a global health fellowship program at UCSF. She returned to LA to obtain a dual degree in medicine and Public Policy in the PRIME program at UCLA, a program focused on developing leaders in healthcare, and stayed on at UCLA to complete her Pediatric residency. During residency, she was a participant in a specialized pathway in which she received advanced training in primary care and advocacy skills.
Dr. Keshav is passionate about patient education, advocacy, public health, and policy work to protect and improve the health and well-being of children everywhere. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband exploring Marin’s beautiful landscape of hiking trails, cooking, reading, writing, dancing, and traveling.

Dr. Galen Harnden
Katherine Ely, Psy.D.
Katherine enjoyed completing her post-doctoral fellowship in Health Psychology at California Pacific Medical Center, working with perinatal and NICU patients and their families. With a background in women’s health issues and practice, perinatal mental health, and pediatric assessment, Katherine is passionate about understanding and supporting children, adolescents, adults, and their family systems. She uses a strengths-based and interpersonal approach to help children and their parents/caregivers identify strengths, access coping skills, foster resiliency, and promote personal and interpersonal growth. Katherine incorporates her natural curiosity, sense of humor, and personal value of radical non-judgment to create safety and meaningful connection.

Susannah Wallenstrom MPH, RDN, CLT
Susannah is a registered dietitian nutritionist with over 22 years of experience working with families in the Bay Area. She has a BA from the University of Virginia and received her Masters in Public Health and Nutrition from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2000.
Susannah loves working with kids of all ages and their families to establish healthy eating habits and to create a lifelong positive relationship with food. She regularly speaks on the topics of picky eating, sports nutrition, and positive parent feeding practices. She is also the mom of 3 college age girls and lives in San Anselmo. She has been working with Golden Gate Pediatrics since 2017.

Kseniya Naturina Fenner, SLP
Kseniya is a proud San Francisco native who grew up in the Richmond District, where she attended SFUSD schools from elementary through high school. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa in 2010, and went on to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine from 2011 to 2013. In 2017, she earned a master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Emerson College.
Kseniya has extensive experience working with pediatric populations in outpatient hospital settings, private practice offices, and in-home care. She specializes in early language and communication delays, as well as articulation, phonological, motor speech, and fluency disorders. She is passionate about making speech therapy engaging and fun, while also empowering parents and caregivers to support their child’s progress at home.
Fluent in Russian, Kseniya has had the unique opportunity to live in Japan, Hawai’i, France, Ukraine, and Boston before returning to San Francisco, which she considers the most beautiful city in the world.

Christy Hack, SLP

Asa (“Osa”) Williams, OTR/L
Asa was born in Kristianstad, Sweden, and moved to San Francisco after attending college at the University of Lund, Sweden. She holds a bachelor of science in management and received her master’s of occupational therapy degree at San Jose State University in 2016.
She has worked in a variety of settings with both children and adults and has extensive experience in neurodevelopment and neurorehabilitation. She has experience working in inpatient facilities as well as community-based practice, and pediatric nature-based occupational therapy. She is passionate about working with kids and their families to promote well-being and facilitate meaningful engagement in all aspects of her patient’s lives.
Asa lives in San Francisco with her partner, John. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, doing yoga, visiting museums, and spending time with her friends and family, including her two adult sons and two stepdaughters.

Marla Kelly, MOT, OTR/L
Marla Kelly was raised in Texas and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Southern
Methodist University and her Master’s degree from Texas Women’s University. She later
moved with her husband to Chicago and then to the Bay Area to raise their family. Marla
has been a resident of Marin County for over 25 years, during which time her three
children received care at Golden Gate Pediatrics.
After graduate school, Marla worked in both the NICU and PICU at Baylor University
Medical Center in Dallas. She continued her career in Chicago as the Pediatric OT
Supervisor at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, now known as the Shirley Ryan
AbilityLab. Marla has extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist, having
worked with various local entities, including San Francisco California Children’s
Services, Golden Gate Regional Center, MCOE Early Intervention, private practice,
public schools, and as a guest lecturer at Dominican University.
Marla is excited to be a part of the Golden Gate Pediatrics community. She holds
advanced certifications and training in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) to facilitate mobility in infants, feeding
and swallowing therapy (SW) and a variety of sensory-motor intervention techniques. In
her free time, Marla enjoys spending time with family and friends, swimming, walking,
practicing yoga, traveling, and participating in volunteer activities.
