We welcome telephone calls during regular business hours concerning health-related matters. Both of our offices are staffed by a full-time Registered Nurse who is available for questions or illness triage during normal business hours. If you want to talk to your doctor, you can always leave a message with our receptionists and your doctor will return your call as soon as possible. Most calls are returned on the doctor’s lunch break or at the end of the day, so leaving several contact numbers (i.e. cell, work, home) is helpful. If there are time constraints on the return call, the doctor will try to meet them. Remember that on a busy day, your doctor may not return to his/her desk for several hours. True emergencies will be put through to the doctor.

If you need advice after hours or on weekends, a nurse is available through the Pediatric Evening Referral Center.

Sick Visits

Our policy is to see anyone requesting an appointment for a sick child on the same day if at all possible. If your child needs to be seen on an emergency basis, we will make every effort to take care of you as soon as possible. There may be times, however, when it is physically impossible to see all the patients who request to be seen on a given day. If this is the case, you will be referred to an after-hours clinic. Our triage nurse can help you decide whether or not your child needs to be seen on that day. Our triage nurses are trained and advised by our physicians. The triage nurse will also help you with advice for appropriate measures to use when care and observation at home is the appropriate course of action.

We are committed to providing families with expert service and compassionate care
