Eileen Aicardi, M.D.

 

Dr. Eileen Aicardi was born in San Francisco.  She attended the University of San Francisco for three years and then transferred to the University of California, San Francisco where she got her BS in medical studies as well as her MD.  She did four years of postgraduate training at UCSF.  She is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and is currently active at UCSF on a number of committees including the Medical Alumni Committee and the Pediatrics Medical Education Committee.  She has been with our practice since 1978.

 

She is on the Board of Directors of the Salesian Boys and Girls Club and volunteers her time for Enterprise for High School Students.  She is married and the proud mother of five boys.  In her free time she enjoys sports, especially if her children are playing and also enjoys doing counted cross stitch.

Mary Piel, M.D.

 

Dr. Mary Piel was born in San Francisco and attended Katherine Delmar Burke School for thirteen years.  She went to UC Santa Barbara and UC Berkeley for her undergraduate education.  

 

She attended Universite de Paris, Sorbonne where she studied the French language.  She then went to Mills College in Oakland where she received a M.A. in Early Childhood Education and Child Life Specialist.  She then went on to Medical School at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.  She completed her Internship and Residency at the University of California Irvine.  She has been with our practice since 1990.

Laurel J. Schultz, M.D., M.P.H.

 

Dr. Laurel Schultz completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa.  She received her Medical Degree from the University of Minnesota before completing her Internship and Residency at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).  

 

After earning a Masters of Public Health degree from the University of California Berkeley, she worked for a year as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe Medical School. as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the UCSF School of Medicine.  Dr. Schultz has been part of our practice since 1995.

Lisa G. Dana, M.D.

 

Dr. Lisa Dana was born in Bologna, Italy.  She attended University High School in San Francisco and then went on to complete her undergraduate education at the University of California Santa Barbara.  She attended Georgetown University for Medical School.  She completed her Internship and Residency at the University of California San Francisco.  Dr. Dana is on the clinical faculty at UCSF, is a member of the San Francisco Medical Society and is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She has been part of our practice since 1999.

 

Dr. Dana is married and the proud parent of three children.  She is a founder and past president of the The Reading Tree Literacy Program.

Dawn Rosenberg, M.D.

 

Dr. Dawn Rosenberg is originally from New York City but spent her high school years in San Francisco.  She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University.  She then attended the University of California San Francisco for medical school, distinguishing herself with election to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honors society.  

 

She completed her post doctoral training in pediatrics at Stanford University.  She then stayed on at Stanford as pediatric chief resident and clinical instructor in pediatrics.  She remains actively involved in medical student and resident education as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at University of California, San Francisco.  She came to join our practice in 2005.

Tracy McMahan, M.D.

 

Dr. Tracy DeAmicis McMahan is a proud native San Franciscan with roots in the Italian American community of North Beach. She attended Lowell High School then earned a BS in Anthropology at UCLA and her MD at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, MD. In 2000 she happily returned home for her pediatrics residency at UCSF and has been in practice since 2003 in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Currently a member of the UCSF Clinical Faculty, she has served the same role at Stanford University Hospital-Lucille Packard.  Dr. McMahan joined our group in 2013.

 

Dr. McMahan has a wonderful husband and two great kids. She loves to stay active by running, cycling, swimming and playing sports with her family. She volunteers her time at her children’s school and in the Italian Community and can be seen on the sidelines at most of her kids’ games.

 

Dr. McMahan encourages all of her patients to lead active lifestyles and has a particular interest in childhood obesity prevention, serving on the initial San Francisco Task Force for Childhood Obesity.  Her other interests include sports medicine and the follow up of preterm babies. Dr. McMahan is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Paul M. Silvestre, M.D., M.P.H.

 

Dr. Paul Silvestre went to Stanford University for his undergraduate education.  He then attended the University of California San Francisco to receive his medical degree and also completed his postdoctoral training there as well.  

 

He has also received a Masters in Public Health from the University of California Berkeley with an emphasis in Maternal and Child Health.  He has been with our practice since 1998.

Meghan Gould, M.D.

 

Dr. Meghan Gould grew up near Seattle, Washington. She earned her B.A. at Pomona College and went on to complete medical school and residency training in pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Gould also works part time at the Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic at San Francisco General Hospital and is a clinical instructor of pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco. She has been with the practice since 2012.

 

Dr. Gould is a sports enthusiast and is an active runner, tennis player, cyclist, and golfer.

Monica Kwan, M.D.

 

Dr. Monica Kwan lives in San Francisco with her husband and son. She was born and raised in the city, and she is a proud graduate of Lowell High School and UC Berkeley. After completing her medical degree at the University of Vermont, she returned home for pediatrics residency at UCSF in the Primary Care Path. While working in community health at North East Medical Services, she improved the lives of the underserved by promoting advocacy and reducing health disparities. She joined our group in 2015.

 

Dr. Kwan enjoys running in Golden Gate Park, watching her beloved San Francisco Giants, taking in art exhibitions at the DeYoung and Legion of Honor, and photographing the city she calls home. She is an active member of the Board of Directors for Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center.

Naho Taguchi, M.D. 

 

Dr. Naho Taguchi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and came to the US where she earned her B.A. at Vassar College.  She went on to study Medicine at St George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada and did her Pediatric Residency at SUNY Downstate University Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.  Dr. Taguchi spent a year as a chief resident in the pediatric department at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NY.  She joined a private practice in Brooklyn for 3 years and then moved to Orange County, CA where she was working in the pediatric urgent care at St Joseph’s medical group for 6 years.

 

Dr. Taguchi and her family moved to the Bay Area in 2016 and is excited to meet new people and learn more about San Francisco.  She enjoys yoga, snowboarding, and traveling with her family in her spare time.

About Us

Allen Eskenazi, M.D.

 

Dr. Eskenazi grew up in Philadelphia and attended Haverford College.  After medical school at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, he completed training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in Rochester, NY.  After many years as a hematologist/oncologist, he returned to general pediatrics and has been an active community pediatrician for a number of years.  He and his lovely wife Joan (a San Mateo native) recently moved to the area and love exploring the region while patiently hoping for grandchildren.

 

Dr. Eskenazi loves bicycling, wood working, gardening, and rooting for baseball teams that wear orange and black.

Susannah Wallenstrom MPH, RDN, CLT

 

Susannah has been in the Bay Area for over 16 years, but she is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville with a degree in Sociology. Her interest in nutrition grew after college, and she moved to Chapel Hill to attend the University of North Carolina. Here she received her Masters in Public Health and Nutrition and became a registered dietitian nutritionist. She and her husband moved to San Francisco soon after, and she has been working as an RDN ever since. She spent 5 years in the outpatient nutrition clinic at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, and she continues to teach infant and and toddler feeding classes there. She was also a consultant dietitian for the San Francisco Nutrition Clinic working with people of all ages to help them achieve sustainable lifestyle change. In 2012, she started Marin Nutrition Consulting, a private practice focused on helping families eat healthier. She loves working with kids of all ages to establish healthy eating habits and a positive relationship with food. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and holds her Certificate of Training in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management.

 

Susannah lives in San Anselmo with her husband, 3 teenage daughters and golden retriever. In her free time she enjoys trail running and hiking, paddle boarding, eating good food, and spending time with her family and friends in the outdoors.
